Angel One ADO decreased 2.8% month-on-month to 7.46 million in September 2024

Shares of Angel One slipped 4.3 per cent and recorded an intraday low of Rs 2,620 per share on the BSE. The stock declined after the discount brokerage’s trading update showed a decline in average daily orders (ADO) on a monthly (MoM) and quarterly (QoQ) basis.

At around 10:05 am, Angel One share price was down 2 per cent at Rs 2,684.8 per share on the BSE. In comparison, the BSE Sensex was trading 0.05 percent higher at 82,534.31 around the same time.

On Friday, Angel One released its activity update which showed its average daily orders (ADO) fell 0.8 percent to 7.64 million in the quarter ended September 30, 2024, from 7.7 million in the June quarter. However, on a year-on-year (YoY) basis, ADO increased by 42.3 percent (Q2FY24 to Q2FY25).

Similarly, Angel One’s ADO decreased by 2.8% month-on-month to 7.46 million in September 2024 from 7.68 million in August 2024. However, ADO increased by 29.9 % over one year (from September 2023 to September 2024).

Similarly, its number of orders also declined by 2.8 percent to 156.68 million in September 2024 from 161.18 million in August 2024. On an annual basis (September 2023 to September 2024), the number of orders has increased by 36.3 percent.

Angel One’s average daily turnover (ADTO) based on option premium for the F&O segment declined 2.9 percent month-on-month to Rs 14,700 crore last month, from Rs 15,100 crore in August 2024. Its daily cash turnover also declined by 4.9 percent in September 2024 to Rs 9,100 crore from Rs 9,600 crore in August 2024.

However, its overall ADTO based on option premium, including cash segment, notional turnover of stock futures and options and commodities segments, increased by 5.8 percent over on a monthly basis and 56.4 percent year-on-year (September 2023 to September 2024).

On the other hand, Angel One’s customer base grew 61% YoY and 11.2% QoQ to 27.49 million in the quarter ended September 30, 2024, from 17.07 million a year ago.

Over the past year, shares of Angel One have gained 47.3 per cent, compared to a 26.4 per cent rise in the BSE Sensex.
